Iron Dreadnought Mk VII

A storm-proof brawler that soaks an entire lobby's fire and grinds caravans into scrap.

Forgemaster 5 hours ago 3.8k views Patch 0.9.x EA

Overview

The wall that walks

The Mk VII is the seventh and meanest revision of a pure front-line tank. The whole blueprint is built around one idea: present a wall of Heavy Bulkheads to the enemy, then walk forward until the fight is over.

Twin autocannons handle sustained DPS while a Heavy Mortar punishes anyone hiding behind cover. The reactive plating shrugs off the first volley of a Storm Dive ambush, buying time for your gunners to range in.

Trade-off: at ~410 t she is glacially slow. Pick your engagements — you cannot chase a Dune Runner, so make them come to you.

Pros & Cons

Strengths

  • + Survives focus-fire from a full squad
  • + Devastating sustained DPS
  • + Controls chokepoints and storm circles
  • + Forgiving for slow, deliberate players

Weaknesses

  • Painfully slow — cannot disengage
  • Expensive in Mechanical Parts and crowns
  • Hungry reactor
  • power management matters
  • Poor at chasing extraction runners

How to build it

  1. 1Lay the heavy chassis and drop the Motor Reactor dead center, then ring it with the Captain's Compartment and Fly Bridge.
  2. 2Build the front wall: alternate Heavy Bulkheads and Reactive Plating two layers deep.
  3. 3Mount both Twin Autocannons up high on Reinforced Decks with a Gunner Post beside each.
  4. 4Place the Heavy Mortar amidships and the two Flak Cannons on the flanks.
  5. 5Tuck the Spawn Bed and Repair Station deep behind the front armor.
  6. 6Wire the Overdrive Coil last — it is your only escape tool, so keep it powered.
