Rust Colossus

A cheap, scrap-built bruiser that gives new players a real tank without the late-game bill.

Rusty Caravanned 7 hours ago 1.5k views Patch EA Patch 3

Overview

A mid-tier workhorse assembled almost entirely from salvage. The Rust Colossus is not pretty, but it is tough enough to anchor a PvE Voyage and cheap enough to rebuild after a bad run.

Riveted plating is layered three deep over the reactor and helm. Three autocannon turrets give all-round coverage so you are never fully blindsided.

If you are graduating from a starter frame and want your first real Dreadnought, build this before you ever touch the expensive late-tier parts.

Pros & Cons

Strengths

  • + Very affordable for a tank
  • + All-round turret coverage
  • + Easy to repair from salvage
  • + Great PvE anchor

Weaknesses

  • Outclassed by late-tier armor
  • Mediocre top speed
  • Low storage for long voyages

How to build it

  1. 1Drop the chassis and center the reactor; box it in with the four core modules.
  2. 2Stack Riveted Plating three deep around the reactor and helm.
  3. 3Add the front Heavy Bulkheads where you expect to take fire.
  4. 4Space the three Autocannon Turrets at 120 degrees with Gunner Posts.
  5. 5Fill the interior with Crew Berths and a Repair Station.
